Dr. Jacob Knox DVM, Owner
Veterinarian
Dr. Knox earned his Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology before obtaining his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts in 2014. His career started in Pennsylvania and included valuable experience at Moon Veterinary Hospital as well as Pleasant Valley Veterinary Clinic, where he was a medical director of a 12 doctor practice. There, he honed his skills in leadership, communication, general practice, surgery, ultrasonography, orthopedics, and endoscopy. Now, he brings that expertise to Gulf Winds, ensuring pets receive cutting-edge medical care in a service-centric environment.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Knox knew from the eighth grade that veterinary medicine was his calling. Growing up as the son of a concrete business owner, he also developed a strong entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic. With the purchase of Gulf Winds Animal Hospital, he has combined his love for animals with his dream of owning a veterinary practice, allowing him to serve the community with high-quality, compassionate care.
Dr. Knox’s approach to veterinary medicine aligns with the hospital’s mission: Help Pets Heal People. He firmly believes that pets provide us with unconditional love, companionship, and some of life’s most cherished memories. Whether it’s a joyful moment or a challenging time, pets are always there for their humans, and he is dedicated to strengthening that bond and keeping them healthy for as long as possible.
Dr. Knox and his wife, Amy, relocated to the panhandle with their four children, Ellie, Claire, Caleb, and Grady, and their beloved dog, a Brittany named Annie. They love being outside together, playing at the beach, going on bike rides, and traveling.
